About the Author

The only qualification that I have for writing Science Fiction books is that I have read an awful lot of them. My reading journey started as a child when my uncles would take me to Smithfield Market in Belfast. This was a young boy's dream. I spent many happy hours hunting through lots of dusty old hardbacks to find any treasures. My favourites were the books of W. E. Johns, who wrote the Biggles Fighter Ace adventures. However, I would read anything. I read The Hobbit, which I borrowed from my school library, and was encouraged by my English teacher to read The Lord of the Rings.  That was when I became hooked on the world of fantasy, and as the years passed, I read anything that featured swords, wizards, elves, and giants. Somewhere along the way, my taste started to shift, and I gradually switched more and more towards Science Fiction, particularly military science fiction. My favourite of the Genre was the Honor Harrington Series by David Weber (Who is still my all-time favourite writer). I thought he could do no better until he went and wrote the epic that is the Safehold series. Unfortunately, over the past few years I have increasingly read novels where I thought I could do better. So, this is my attempt. I hope you enjoy the books. If not, try David Weber or J. H. Jucha's Silver Ships series.
